Megavina's review: L'Odéon Hotel Phu My Hung
Megavina's Investigators have visited this 3-star establishment in Phu My Hung (district 7), they tested the main services, booked a room and talked to the staff. Comfortable, peaceful, friendly!
- by Megavina Travel - Establishment visited March 24, 2016Quite far from the center, District 7 is a good place to relax or enjoy the shopping at Crescent Mall, a large plaza with hundreds of shops and restaurants. In addition, many of the recently constructed buildings or in construction make the location inaccessible, noisy (during the day) and not welcoming.
L'Odéon hotel is a family business managed by a friendly and talkative man speaking many languages, he is very useful for most of the tourists and a good advisor. The staff is kind and friendly. The main atmosphere is welcoming, a large lobby and restaurant with tartan prints sofas, red painting on walls, wood, picture frames, reading lamps, wall units... a British/French style!
Our room was clean, quite large and purple! Light purple painting, purple and cream color curtains and bedspread, we must not forget a small balcony with 2 rattan chairs and a table. The bathroom included a large shower cabin, toilets, sink and mirror. The design, the attention to detail, the colour choices inside the room were well thought for a good night's sleep.
The breakfast was composed of hot and cold dishes, not so much choice but enough to satisfy most of the guests. Stir-fried vegetables, seafood soup, fried rice, water melon, dragon fruit, papaya, yogurt, sweet cakes, eggs, pastas, pancakes... you can also ask for a vietnamese soup (Pho), omelette or noodles. Staff was particularly attentive and polite, the manager came to our table to talk about the Belgium attacks and ask if everything was ok concerning our journey at Odéon.
Tourists/customers seemed to come from different countries such as Korea, China, Belgium, France, England... From our point of view, this 3-star establishment offers quality services, interesting advices and good comfort, the perfect place to relax even if we could expect a bar service at night time after dinner in the nice lobby but nobody to serve any beverages...

Perth,What a beautiful hotel! A bit noisy during the day because they are building around. Spacious room, very clean, lovely owner very talkative and friendly. Staff is correct but didn't care of us, we were expecting having a cocktail at night time but nobody came to us. They were 2 receptionists, one girl and one boy, the girl was talking to a french guy, but the boy didn't come to us... We waited more than 20 minutes, then we left.
