If Chuck's burgers have a good reputation in Saigon, Soul burger seems to surprise many tourists and clients with the size of its burgers.

Don't be put off by the entrance, just go up the stairs and you will feel like you have traveled across the world. Our first impression was "oh it looks like a spanish bodega".

The food was great, as is the service, it's difficult to express how happy we were with our meal, for the price it's was practically a steal.

You would pay 2 or 3 times as much in a western country for the same dishes!

The menu was not so large but one page was only dedicated to burgers.

As appetizer we selected a Chili grilled squid, absolutely gorgeous, tender and tasty.

Then we chose a burger called Diana Ross with a 200g house-ground imported beef patties charred-grilled, topped with mushrooms cooked in a creamy sauce. It's served like most of the burgers with fresh hand-cut fries, green salad with sherry vinaigrette. At 230,000vnd (+/- USD10), we didn't know what to expect, in fact we really enjoyed it! French fries were crispy, not too salty.

Our second choice, a Khanh Ly, a chicken burger. A large breast of smoked chicken very tender served with salad.

What to drink with that kind of menu?

Between 4.30pm to 7pm, it's time for "Happy Hours" the Tiger draught is offered at 25,000vnd (+/- USD1). But the choice of beers is very impressive, for example you can taste the Belgian citrus with some light hops beer Duvel, the German beer from Munich Hacker-Pschorr, Guinness, Leffe, Hoegaarden, Corona, Stella Artois, Budweiser... For wine lovers, you may be interested to sip on a glass of Allan Scott Pinot noir, a New Zealand wine brewed by a Kiwi family-operated business based in Blenheim (Marlborough Region).

Before leaving, we met the canadian owner Gabriel, a very friendly guy who asked us if we enjoyed our meal. The Soul burger is now open for lunch from 11am to 2:30pm tuesday-sunday
