Nha Trang
Upon arriving to Nha Trang, most tourists will pass through Tran Phu Boulevard which is Nha Trang most famous thoroughfare. It runs the length of the beach with several major restaurants and hotels located within a few steps from the beach.<.p>
Forming a magnificent sweeping arc, Nha Trang's golden sand beach is the city's trump card. The turquoise water is fabulously inviting, and the promenade a delight to stroll.
If you enjoy water sports such as scuba diving/snorkeling, canoe, parasailing (recreational kiting activity where you will be towed behind a boat while attached to a specially designed canopy wing that reminds one of a parachute, known as a parasail wing), banana boat, jet ski, kite surfing so you will love so you will love Nha Trang...
How to get to Nha Trang city?
By plane
Cam Ranh Airport (CXR), built on the grounds of an old American airbase in 2004, is located 30km from the city and serves only domestic destinations and Russia. Taxi fare from the airport to downtown locations is a fixed rate of 380,000 VND, though many hotels have their own buses.
By train
Nha Trang is a stop on the main railway-line connecting Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The railway station is close to the cathedral in the northern part of town. If you want a soft-sleeper (the highest class available on Vietnamese trains), book your train ticket directly at the train station as far in advance as you are able.
By bus
Most open tour buses arrive from Ho Chi Minh City in the south (10-12 hours) and Hoi An to the north (16 hours). They drop their passengers in the main tourist area around Biet Thu.
Nha Trang has a reliable and easy to navigate public bus system, where the ticket fare does not exceed 5000 dongs for a ride on a modern, air-conditioned bus. You will find buses nr. 3 and 2 the most useful, since they pass through the southern quarters. Alternatively, you'll find the usual selection of taxis, cyclos and motorbikes.
An option for seeing the sites is to hire a cyclo-driver. Clarify the price first. For just 30.000vnd, he will transport you in the heart of Nha Trang full of shops and western restaurants.
Most of the hotels can also offer you rental scooters for 60.000vnd half day or 120.000vnd for a day.
Vietnam remained an attractive destination for Russian tourists.
In late October 2011, Russia's OrenAir Airlines began to offer direct flights between the city of Krasnoyarsk to Cam Ranh International Airport in Khanh Hoa, serving tourists from the Far East Region of Russia who toured the Vietnamese cities of Nha Trang and Phan Thiet during their winter vacation.
So don't be surprised to meet so many russian people on the beach, in the bars, in the restaurants, anywhere at anytime. Even some frontstore shops are only written in slavic language.
Most Russian tourists like swimming in sea, sunbathing and enjoying seafood. They are floating on cloud nine for all their holidays enjoying lobsters, prawns, squids, crabs... but they also like visiting temples, monuments...
